Aims and scope: 

The course will have a duration of 15 hours and will cover three main topics: democracy (institutional reform, European elections, participation, public opinion, euro-scepticism, lobbying, the democratic deficit...); stability (the future of the stability and growth pact, the future of the euro, the ECB and monetary policy, the financial crisis, banking supervision, property markets, oil prices, energy policy...); and enlargement (the idea of Europe, the changing borders of the European Union, experience from the past enlargements, the candidate countries, the case of Turkey, the EU neighbourhood policy...). The course will be organised in the form of lectures and panel discussions, and will be held in English and Spanish.
